QUIXOL MANCHESTER TERRIERS

Ch Quixol Bryony

Ch Quixol Bryony –(Ch Digelsa Don the One x Twisel Favour Returned) or Rio was born in 1996 and she was the Top Pedigree Chum Puppy of the Year in Manchesters in 1997. She won 7 CCs and 4 Res CCs and won the Bitch CC at Crufts and she was withdrawn from the ring at the end of 2000 when she lost a toe on both front feet in an accident – being a terrier. She also proved to have a brain as well as beauty and gained the Bronze and Silver KC Good Citizen Awards, which is basic obedience. Rio had three litters, two by Ch Brookstream Beamish;- from the first litter she bred Ch Quixol Charity at Egloshayle 7 CCs and 5 Res CCs and from the second, Quixol Misty Ivy at Egloshayle Sh CM, 1 CC and 8 Res CCs for David and Janet Palmer who have gone on to breed champions themselves - please view their web-site you will find on our links page. For Carol and Claire Rio bred us Quixol Hazel 2 Res CC`s, and in Rio`s last litter with Ch Eaglespur Noble Archer we kept a bitch Ch  Quixol Betony 4 CCs and 8 Res CCs. It was at Leeds championship show in 2005 with Rio`s 4 girls Charity, Ivy, Hazel and Beth that we won a place in the Pedigree Breeders Stakes with the finals at Crufts 2006, there were 12 finalists and we are proud to be the only Manchester breeders ever to qualify. She still enjoys playing with her grandchildren, grooming them and telling them off, and like all grandparents is glad you can hand them back to mum when you have had enough.

Sadly Rio had a very bad stroke when she was 14yrs and 10mths and we had to let her go, there will never be another Rio we do miss her.
